About Us
Troop 21 Open Scout Group is a beacon of independence, integrity, and service within the Scouting movement in Bangladesh. Founded with a vision of fostering self-directed and inclusive youth development, we have grown into one of the most esteemed independent Scout troops in the Dhaka Region and Dhaka Metropolitan area.

Our Journey
Our story began in December 2018, when 21 dedicated Scouts, Rovers, and Leaders embarked on a new path, departing from an existing troop in Dhaka to establish a new, autonomous group. This spirit of independence is reflected in our name, “Open,” signifying our inclusive and self-governed identity. On February 21, 2019, during a pivotal meeting, we formally adopted our name, logo, scarf, and woggle, and elected our interim executive committee, with Abdul Hannan as President and Mohammad Surujjaman Rimon as Secretary. This marked the official beginning of Troop 21 Open Scout Group.
Founder's
We swiftly sought formal recognition from Bangladesh Scouts. Our Scout branch secured approval from the Dhaka Region in July 2019, following an application to the Dhaka Metropolitan Unit in February 2019. The Rover branch followed suit, gaining approval from the Rover Region in January 2020 after submitting registration papers in October 2019. These approvals validated our commitment to Scouting principles and laid the groundwork for our expansion. A significant milestone occurred on January 11, 2020, with our induction camp and investiture ceremony, inaugurating four units simultaneously: Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rovers, and Girl Rovers. Each new member was welcomed through traditional rites, instilling the core values of duty, leadership, and service. Immediately after this, our Scout unit proudly participated in the 2nd Community-Based Camp, demonstrating our active engagement in national Scouting events from our earliest days.
Our Values and Achievements
Under the guidance of our skilled leaders, Troop 21’s Scouts and Rovers have consistently participated in a wide spectrum of activities and service projects at the district, divisional, and national levels, showcasing their unwavering dedication to community development and Scouting ideals. Our passion for service and excellence is evident in our achievements. Troop 21 members have earned two prestigious National Service Awards, recognizing their outstanding contributions to society and the Scout movement. Our leadership team, led by President Dr. Mohammad Arizul Islam Khan (Wood Badge) and Secretary Surujjaman Rimon, along with Group Scout Leader Khandaker Nasim Haider (PRS, Wood Badge), ensures high standards of training, character-building, and community impact. These Wood Badge credentials signify their commitment to inspiring our younger Scouts. Beyond national accolades, our members have also been honored with the Medal of Merit, Bar to the Medal of Merit, National Certificate, PRS, PS & CDS, further highlighting their dedication and exemplary service. As a forward-looking organization, we are dedicated to empowering youth and making a positive impact on society, both locally and globally. We aim to participate in international Scout events and global service projects, fostering cross-cultural understanding and extending our spirit of unity worldwide.
